“Reasons for joining the Dunfermline History Group (DFHG) are many! As an overseas member I have had wonderful assistance from DFHG with all my research involving an ancestor who originally emigrated from Dunfermline to Australia in 1849. The DFHG website is packed with Useful Links to other sites and although I’m unable to attend meetings, I still feel connected and part of the group through regular emails and updates. On a recent trip to the UK I was welcomed to Dunfermline by Marion West, the DFHG Chair, who personally ensured that I had information and access that was specific to my ancestor. All in all, I’m very grateful for the ongoing assistance DFHG provides in turning my Dunfermline ancestors into living, breathing people.”
